On August 8, Atlanta Zambian Women With Influence (AZWWI) proudly donated 16 computers and 20 computer desks to Lukomba Primary and Secondary School in Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia.
Before this donation, the school had only four working computers plus one laptop previously donated by AZWWI. With this new contribution, the school now has a total of 20 desktop computers, with 15 allocated to the Secondary School and 5 to the Primary School. This marks a transformative leap in the school’s ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning. Our local Liaison Ms. Bupe Mwenechenya represented the AZWWI team at the handover ceremony.
This is not AZWWI’s first partnership with Lukomba School. In addition to the laptop, AZWWI has also donated microscopes to strengthen science education. Each of these contributions reflects our ongoing commitment to equipping rural schools with tools that expand opportunity.
At AZWWI, we believe it is crucial for children—especially in rural communities—to be exposed to technology and science early. Without these resources, students face significant disadvantages compared to peers in urban areas. Bridging this gap is not just about providing equipment; it is about empowerment, opportunity, and preparing Zambia’s next generation to thrive in a global economy.
This initiative also underscores AZWWI’s mission of supporting rural girls and setting them up for success. Access to computers, science equipment, and other learning resources opens new doors in education, career pathways, and confidence-building for young women who might otherwise be left behind.
