Through each and every one of you, Atlanta Zambian Women with Influence (AZWWI) was able to contribute to the educational development of 135 orphan girls at Lukomba Primary and Lukomba Secondary schools. This was part of our goal for 2020, and each of you, our supporters, is responsible for this major success! For those who made donations to the effort, your gifts were used to pay school fees for the girls and purchase school supplies for the 2020-2021 academic year. 2020 Virtual Concert Financial Report
As we all are aware, social distancing has limited the number of in-person gatherings and charity events we can host. Luckily, we were able to plan and execute a virtual benefits concert in 2020; we appreciate each and every one of you who showed up (virtually!) to support the AZWWI’s mission. For the 2020 virtual concert, AZWWI raised just over ten thousand dollars, thanks to all of our amazing supporters.
With the money that was raised, approximately three thousand was set aside for AZWWI’s balance to help with other projects. More than $2,500 was spent on school supplies for the young women of Lukomba’s primary and secondary schools. For a breakdown of the remainder of the expenses, take a look at the chart below:
For 2021, we will be hosting another virtual fundraising concert. The date is currently set for July 17th at 3 PM EST. We hope you will join us on our Facebook page during the event! And, as always, contact us with any questions you have about how we use your donations.
